From the blog...

Last weekend, the fantastic Rob Berger shared one of my Social Security articles with his audience.

I received some awesome questions from you guys and from Rob’s audience. But beneath a few of those questions, many people made a common mistake:

Spousal benefits and Survivor benefits are NOT the same thing in the Social Security world!

So let’s amend that today, and we’ll include Divorced Spouse benefits (or just “Divorced”) as well.

On the podcast...

On Episode 117 of the podcast, we cover:

  • The only constant in retirement
  • The retiree's financial decathlon,
  • And I'm joined by Spencer Reese to share lessons from his Air Force retirement, including the identity shifts that come with leaving the military or workforce, the challenge of replacing purpose and community, and how preparation and adaptability ease the transition.
